Tofurky with Garlic Aioli & Honey Mustard Sauce

This tofurky with garlic aioli & honey mustard sauce is absolutely delicious and using the tofurky is a great way of having a healthier alternative to meat.

I don’t know about you guys, but most people I know love a good sandwich. Whether it’s for lunch, a picnic or a midnight snack, on a roll, a sub or just on plain bread you just can’t beat em’. Being an Aussie, of course I love my vegemite and cheese sanga, but my favourite of all time is a cheese and tomato sandwich with a good vintage cheese with salt and pepper. I’ll save those for another time maybe.

Today though I thought I’d share this tofurky with garlic aioli & honey mustard sauce, as it’s something a little different and I encourage all the meat eaters out there to give this a go. Tofurky is delicious and has a nice salty and sweet taste and pulls off the turkey flavour nicely. It doesn’t taste like your typical plant based meats which to me taste all the same.

I love pre making our sandwiches when we go on a picnic or road trip and this one is a winner with everyone. You can giggle and say I might have a little OCD but I believe that there is an order to how you build your sandwich, but at the end of the day it’s your sandwich and you know how you like it. This will make two large sandwiches so cut in half. Either put it in your picnic basket or eat away. YUM!

Ingredients

  • Tofurky Slices

  • Pane di casa loaf or your favourite bread

  • Butter

  • Garlic aioli

  • Mixed leaves

  • A strong cheddar or your favourite cheese

  • Honey mustard sauce

  • Tomato sliced

Directions

  • Grab a small pane di casa loaf or bread of your choice & slice it in half horizontally then butter each side.
  • On the top half spread some garlic aioli.
  • On the bottom half add some mixed leaves then put your cheese on. I recommend using an aged cheddar for this one.
  • Add the tofurky & then your honey mustard sauce.
  • Add the tomatoes, then onions with a little salt & pepper then put your lid on.
  • This will make two large sandwiches so cut in half.

  1. I used vegan mature cheddar from Coles to make it wholly vegan and it was the best lunch. Could easily make this every day!!!
