Roasted Chickpeas Three Ways

Today I’m going to show you how you can have roasted chickpeas three ways. They make a great healthy snack for everyone in the family.

These roasted chickpeas are absolutely addictive! They’re simple to do and after you take the time to dry the chickpeas, take no time at all to make. It’s a great little dish to get the kids involved as well. The pictures you see are of the honey cinnamon combo as Maggie loves them. I might be slightly partial to them as well.

Roasted chickpeas are very versatile too. There are lots of flavour combinations you can make that I couldn’t decide on just one combo. So I decided to give you roasted chickpeas three ways. These are my top three out of the combinations I have tried to date but if I had to pick a number one it would be the spicy combo.

I’m not sure about you guys, but another great thing for us is that we generally have almost everything needed already in the pantry. They’re also great to snack on while watching a movie on a Saturday night. Enjoy!

Main Ingredients

  • 2 400g 2 cans of chickpeas

  • 2 Tbsp 2 olive oil

  • Honey Cinnamon Flavour
  • 1 tsp 1 ground cinnamon

  • 1 Tbsp 1 granulated sugar

  • 1 Tbsp 1 honey

  • Spicy Combo
  • 1 tsp 1 ground cumin

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp 1 chilli powder

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 sea salt

  • BBQ Flavour
  • 2 tsp 2 paprika

  • 3 tsp 3 brown sugar

  • 1 tsp 1 ground cumin

  • 1 tsp 1 onion powder

  • 1 tsp 1 chilli powder

  • 1 tsp 1 garlic powder

  • 1 tsp 1 sea salt

Directions

  • Drain and rinse your chickpeas. Remove any loose skins off. Just remove the ones that are super loose.
  • On a paper towel or towel, evenly spread your beans and let dry for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 200°C.
  • Line your tray with baking paper & evenly spread the chickpeas.
  • Bake for 40-60 minutes. Check them after 40 minutes & if they are crunchy, they are done. If they are too moist then cook a little longer but watch so they don’t burn.
  • After baking, quickly transfer to a bowl and mix in the olive oil.
  • Then spread the seasonings of whatever flavour combo you are using and mix well.
  • With the honey cinnamon flavor, after coating, you can put the beans back into the oven for 5 minutes or so to caramelize them.
  • Enjoy!
