Hungarian Cabbage with Noodles (Káposztás Tészta)

This Hungarian Cabbage with Noodles is so simple to make. It’s the ultimate comfort food and definitely so much more than the ingredients you use.

Hungarian Cabbage with Noodles or kaposztás tészta (pronounced ka’-pos-tash tes’-ta) is just cabbage and onions slowly caramelized in butter until they become a deliciously fragrant, golden brown and then tossed into egg noodles. I have tried this recipe without using real butter and trust me, real butter for this dish is the best.

The only thing I will say with this dish is that if you can, it is so much better if you can get your hands on Hungarian egg noodles known as Magyar tojasos teszta (Pronounced MAHG-yahr toy-YAH-shohss TESS-tah). If you can’t find any then a great substitute would be pappardelle.

This is so easy and simple to make and so addictively delicious. It’s fantastic comfort food and just makes you feel good inside. Once you have this dish I guarantee it will become a permanent dish on your home menu. Enjoy!
